Our Story
Our Story
Some things are worth doing right. For the Lenderman family, making duck calls is one of them.
Where It All Began — 1995
Timber Mallard Duck Calls was originally founded in 1995 by Hulen Lenderman and his son Patrick H. Lenderman. From the very beginning, it was never about mass production or cutting corners — it was about craftsmanship, passion for the outdoors, and a deep love of the hunt.
Hulen and Patrick built the company on a simple belief: a great duck call should be made by hand, with care, from materials worthy of the tradition. That's why every call we make is crafted from premium acrylic and hand-selected wood — materials that produce the rich, true tones that serious hunters demand.
A Family Tradition
For over three decades, Timber Mallard was a labor of love — calls turned on a lathe, tuned by ear, and sent out into the marshes and flooded timber of America's best duck country. Each call carries the fingerprints of the people who made it. That's not a figure of speech. It's just how we've always done it.
The Lenderman name has always stood for quality you can hear the moment you blow the first note.
Honoring Hulen — The 2025 Rebrand
In September of 2025, Timber Mallard Duck Calls was rebranded by Patrick H. Lenderman and the Lenderman family — a decision made with both pride and purpose.
Hulen Lenderman passed away in 2021, leaving behind a legacy built on integrity, skill, and a genuine love for the craft. The rebrand is our way of honoring him — of carrying his name and his standards forward into a new chapter. Every call we ship is a tribute to the man who started it all.
We don't take that lightly.
Handcrafted. Family-Made. Built to Last.
Today, Timber Mallard continues to produce premium handcrafted duck calls for hunters who know the difference. Whether you're working a greenhead in the flooded timber or calling in a flock over a spread, you deserve a call that performs — and one with a story behind it.
We're grateful you're here. And we think Hulen would be too.
