Our Story

Where It All Began — 1995

Timber Mallard Duck Calls was founded in 1995 by Hulen “Hootie” Lenderman and his son, Patrick H. Lenderman.

From the beginning, it was never about mass production or cutting corners. It was about craftsmanship, a passion for the outdoors, and a deep respect for the tradition of duck hunting.

Hootie and Patrick built the company around a simple belief: a great duck call should be made by hand, made with care, and made from materials worthy of the hunt. That’s why Timber Mallard calls are crafted from premium acrylic and hand-selected wood, chosen to deliver the rich, true tones serious hunters expect.

A Family Tradition

For more than three decades, Timber Mallard has been a labor of love — calls turned on a lathe, tuned by ear, and sent into the marshes and flooded timber of some of America’s finest duck country.

Every call carries the touch of the people who made it. That isn’t just a saying. It’s simply the way we’ve always done things.

The Lenderman name has come to represent craftsmanship and quality you can hear from the very first note.

Honoring Hootie — The 2025 Rebrand

In September 2025, Patrick H. Lenderman and the Lenderman family introduced a renewed Timber Mallard brand — one built to honor where the company came from while carrying it forward for the next generation.

Hulen Lenderman passed away in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, skill, and a genuine love for the craft. This new chapter is our way of honoring Hootie and continuing the standards he helped establish more than 30 years ago.

Every call we make carries a piece of that legacy.
